Actor, director, producer and writer, John Strasberg has worked with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, Al Pacino, Marilyn Monroe, Dustin Hoffman, Robert DeNiro, Havery Keitel and Elia Kazan, amongst others. 

 

John Strasberg´s international career is the clear example and continuation of the artistic tradition of the Strasberg family. And the revolucionary perspective of his pedagogical discoveries, based on the Organic Creative Process, goes beyond the systems and methods of those great masters before him, being crucial for the path of many renowned actors.  

 

Born in 1941, Jonh Strasberg was brought up amongst the most acclaimed actors of the Actor´s Studio, founded by Elia Kazan and his father, Lee Strasberg.

 

“John Strasberg Studios”, in Nueva York, is an international centre devoted to creative growth and investigation about Theatre. His book, “Accidentally on Purpose”, is a deep biography that reflects the discovery and evolution of the Organic Creative Process.

 

John Strasberg has created and directed awarded stage productions from playwrights such as Pirandello, Ibsen, O´Neill, Lope de Vega and Beckett, amongst others. Aristofane´s “Assemblywomen” was a musical production he directed for the Merida Festival.

 

He co-founded the Mirror Repertory Company of New York, and directed Clifford Odets´ Paradise Lost, Susan Glaspell´s Inheritors, Lluvia, Vivat! Vivat! Regina! and Ibsen´s Ghosts, working with artists such as Geraldine Page, that he had known at the Actor´s Studio. He also co-directed Alice in Wonderland, in Broadway, with Eva Legallienne…

 

He teaches and gives conferences in different countries: the National Theatre of London, Centro Dramático in Madrid, Teatro Nacional in Buenos Aires, Canada, Italy, Germany, Norway, Peru as well as American universities such as Yale, New York University and The New School.
